Accounting Automation Engineer

About the role

Ruby Labs is seeking an Accounting Automation Engineer to automate core accounting processes across a multi-entity, multi-country enterprise. The role focuses on building agentic AI systems and agents to handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures. You will leverage AI coding tools and programming skills to replace manual tasks while ensuring strict adherence to accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Automate invoice capture, data extraction, and vendor matching for accounts payable
• Manage accounts receivable processes including invoice generation, cash application, and dunning
• Perform bank, card, and balance sheet account reconciliations across multiple currencies
• Execute month-end close tasks including journal entries, depreciation runs, and FX revaluation
• Develop data pipelines between ERP systems, banks, and payment platforms
• Provide audit support through evidence collection and sample extraction

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
• Real experience with AI coding tools
• Hands-on experience building automations with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
• ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent, or several years of hands-on accounting experience
