About the role
The Developer Relations Engineer acts as a technical expert, strategist, and communicator to engage with open-source communities and developer-centric organizations. This role bridges the gap between the company and its users by providing technical insights, gathering feedback to shape product priorities, and fostering innovation. The engineer will combine practical programming skills with diplomacy to improve the overall developer experience for Ubuntu and related cloud, IoT, and data science technologies.
Responsibilities
- Participate in team product meetings ranging from strategy to day-to-day development progress.
- Maintain active engagement with developer community members across various platforms including IRC, social media, and forums.
- Collaborate with internal teams to establish consistent technical approaches.
- Solve specific technical problems identified by users or colleagues.
- Contribute to technical documentation, articles, presentations, and workshops.
- Identify new opportunities to improve the developer experience and present at industry events.
