Senior Agent Platform Engineer

About the role

Proxima Fusion is seeking a Senior Agent Platform Engineer to own the architecture, delivery, and operation of its AI agent platform. This role involves scaling the platform into reliable infrastructure that enables autonomous agents to support physicists and engineers in their workflows. You will work within the Enterprise AI team to build a secure, governable, and observable system that integrates with internal and external tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, delivery, and operation of the agent platform including runtime, durable sessions, and tool integration.
• Transform evolving agent ecosystems into stable platform building blocks and supported primitives.
• Co-design the integration layer connecting agents to enterprise tools and scientific computing stacks.
• Implement safety and governance features such as human-in-the-loop flows, audit logging, and cost controls.
• Build evaluation and observability layers to ensure reliability for non-deterministic systems.
• Operate the platform on Google Cloud with a focus on production-level reliability and failure handling.
