Lab Operations Manager

About the role

Ai Bio is a stealth startup building infrastructure for data generation in AI and biology. This role involves setting up and managing the day-to-day operations of a new lab in London, ensuring that stock, equipment, and supply chains are managed effectively to support scientific research. You will define and implement operational systems that will scale as the company grows, ensuring that critical data provenance is captured at the point of use.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily lab operations including stock control, inventory management, and reordering of consumables.
• Oversee goods-in processes, including receiving deliveries, cold chain storage, and accurate record-keeping.
• Maintain equipment service schedules, calibration records, and coordinate with engineers for repairs.
• Manage supplier relationships, including raising orders, tracking lead times, and running quote processes.
• Maintain lab housekeeping, waste streams, and safety records in collaboration with health and safety partners.
• Collaborate with science and software teams to ensure operational data is captured for provenance records.
