About the role

The Senior Category Manager will independently manage book categories and continuously develop the assortment with a focus on growth, market trends, and profitability. This role involves evaluating new releases and backlist titles, managing procurement, and analyzing sales data to optimize performance. The position is based in a dynamic e-commerce service agency in Berlin.

Responsibilities

• Steuerung und Weiterentwicklung der Buchkategorien mit Fokus auf Wachstum und Wirtschaftlichkeit.
• Bewertung von Neuerscheinungen, Backlist-Titeln, Themenwelten und Verlagen hinsichtlich Nachfrage, Potenzial und Performance.
• Verantwortung für Bestellungen sowie Sicherstellung der Warenverfügbarkeit in Zusammenarbeit mit internen Schnittstellen.
• Analyse von Verkaufszahlen, Markttrends, Wettbewerbern und Sortimentsperformance zur Ableitung konkreter Optimierungsmaßnahmen.
• Aufbau und Pflege erfolgreicher Partnerschaften mit Verlagen und Lieferanten sowie Identifikation neuer Geschäftsmöglichkeiten.
• Kontinuierliche Verbesserung von Umsatz, Marge und Sortiment auf Basis datengetriebener Entscheidungen.

Qualifications
