About the role

The Category Manager for Books will independently manage and develop book categories with a focus on growth, market trends, and profitability. This role involves evaluating new releases and backlist titles, managing procurement, and analyzing sales data to optimize the product portfolio. The successful candidate will build strong partnerships with publishers and suppliers while driving commercial success in an e-commerce environment.

Responsibilities

• Steuerung und Weiterentwicklung der Buchkategorien mit Fokus auf Wachstum und Wirtschaftlichkeit.
• Bewertung von Neuerscheinungen, Backlist-Titeln, Themenwelten und Verlagen hinsichtlich Nachfrage, Potenzial und Performance.
• Verantwortung für Bestellungen sowie Sicherstellung der Warenverfügbarkeit in Zusammenarbeit mit internen Schnittstellen.
• Analyse von Verkaufszahlen, Markttrends, Wettbewerbern und Sortimentsperformance zur Ableitung konkreter Optimierungsmaßnahmen.
• Aufbau und Pflege erfolgreicher Partnerschaften mit Verlagen und Lieferanten sowie Identifikation neuer Geschäftsmöglichkeiten.
• Kontinuierliche Verbesserung von Umsatz, Marge und Sortiment auf Basis datengetriebener Entscheidungen.

Qualifications
