Product Owner, Accounting Stack

About the role

You will own the Accountants Stack at Flex, including accounting integrations, expense management, bill pay, invoicing, and financial reporting. This role focuses on building tools for bookkeepers, controllers, and CPAs to manage the financial operations of super premium business owners. You will bridge the gap between business and personal financial data to create a seamless, integrated experience.

Responsibilities

• Define the strategy and own the connectivity layer to accounting and ERP systems.
• Build expense management features including receipt capture, GL coding, and approval workflows.
• Manage bill pay and AR/AP workflows with full reconciliation back to accounting systems.
• Develop and ship an invoicing product.
• Architect the connection between business and personal financial data.
• Partner with Banking, Credit, Cards, and Payments product owners to ensure seamless financial flows.
• Translate the needs of controllers, CFOs, and CPAs for the rest of the company.

Qualifications

• Experience building product for bookkeepers, controllers, fractional CFOs, or outside accountants
• Deep hands-on familiarity with at least two of: QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or Acumatica
