Senior Technical Support Engineer - Semiconductor Systems

About the role

Infinitesima is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to solve complex technical challenges across software, automation, motion control, and high-precision instrumentation. You will play a key role in investigating system-level issues, driving rapid resolutions, and influencing the design and reliability of next-generation semiconductor metrology technology. This role is ideal for engineers experienced in precision engineering or semiconductor equipment who enjoy root cause analysis and cross-disciplinary problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations into complex system-level issues across customer and manufacturing environments.
• Diagnose problems spanning software, firmware, automation, controls, electronics and mechanical subsystems.
• Drive rapid resolution of high-priority technical escalations.
• Act as a senior technical authority supporting Customer Success, Applications and Engineering teams.
• Analyse motion control performance and closed-loop control behaviour.
• Conduct structured root cause investigations and identify long-term corrective actions.
• Develop troubleshooting tools, diagnostic procedures, and technical knowledge resources.
