Senior Assigned Support Engineer

About the role

As an Assigned Support Engineer, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to GitLab's largest customers, helping them avoid operational disruptions and maximize the value of the platform. You will combine deep Linux systems expertise with proactive support to anticipate issues and solve complex technical challenges. The role involves collaborating across internal teams to drive defect resolution and influence product roadmaps while providing high-level technical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to large Self-managed, GitLab Dedicated, and GitLab.com customers to ensure environment stability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex, critical support issues using logs, Linux utilities, and Zendesk.
• Build proactive relationships with key customer stakeholders to address technical blockers.
• Collaborate with Product, Development, Infrastructure, and Sales teams to drive bug fixes and influence feature development.
• Act as a technical expert on GitLab and CI/CD implementations to advise on workflow mitigation.
• Create and improve support content, including documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
• Partner with Support Engineering team members through pairing sessions and stable counterpart relationships.
• Participate in hiring processes, including reviewing applications and conducting interviews.
