About the role
The Web Dependability Engineering team ensures that websites function seamlessly across DuckDuckGo's browsers on Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android. As a Senior Web Compatibility Engineer, you will own the web compatibility triage process, debug complex issues, and develop durable fixes to prevent site breakage. You will also lead incident responses and build automated tooling to improve team efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Own the web compatibility side of the triage process
- Debug complex issues in third-party code
- Distinguish between site bugs, browser bugs, and privacy protection-induced breakage
- Lead incident response when top sites break
- Ship durable fixes across all supported platforms
- Build agentic tooling to automate repetitive work
