About the role
The Web Dependability Engineering team is responsible for ensuring websites function seamlessly across DuckDuckGo's browser platforms. As a Senior Web Compatibility Engineer, you will lead the triage process for web compatibility issues, debug complex site breakages, and develop durable fixes and automated tooling to improve the user experience. This role requires end-to-end ownership of projects, from initial scoping to post-incident analysis.
Responsibilities
- Own the web compatibility triage process and lead incident response for site breakage.
- Debug complex issues in third-party code and distinguish between site, browser, and privacy-protection bugs.
- Ship durable fixes across Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android platforms.
- Reverse-engineer obfuscated code and reduce issues to minimal test cases.
- Build and maintain LLM agent pipelines to automate site breakage reproduction and triage.
- Lead complex, ambiguous projects with minimal oversight.
