About the role

This role involves building and owning the analysis of assay data and the associated ML infrastructure within a stealth AI and biology startup. You will work closely with protein characterisation scientists and the software team to ensure data quality, traceability, and clear presentation of results. The position requires a blend of data engineering and biostatistics to turn raw instrument output into reliable, versioned datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain analysis and ML pipelines for assay and sequence data.
• Perform data validation to ensure integrity of samples, plates, and wells.
• Conduct sequence-level bioinformatics and construct analysis.
• Apply biostatistics for experimental design, error propagation, and outlier handling.
• Implement curve fitting for various instrument traces with automated quality control.
• Detect batch effects and monitor instrument variability through statistical process control.
• Create data visualisations that communicate results, uncertainty, and QC metrics.
