Platform Engineer

About the role

The Platform Engineer will be responsible for the operation and further development of the hosting platform, covering virtualization, storage, networking, and observability. This role serves as a technical escalation point for the support team, focusing on root cause analysis and system stability. The engineer will drive automation, oversee maintenance and migrations, and contribute to hardware planning to ensure high platform performance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and develop the hosting platform including Proxmox/KVM virtualization, storage, and networking.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for the Platform Support team to resolve complex issues.
• Automate infrastructure tasks using Ansible and Git.
• Plan and oversee maintenance, upgrades, and migrations.
• Contribute to capacity and hardware planning for new hardware and locations.
• Document design decisions transparently and share knowledge with the team.
