Staff Engineer

About the role

Dutchie is seeking a Staff Engineer to work across teams to solve complex technical challenges and steer the technical direction of their platform. You will focus on improving system reliability, shaping engineering practices including AI integration, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable retail software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Make real improvements to enterprise-grade retail software at scale
• Set technical direction and architecture calls to shape system evolution
• Work with stakeholders to scope, sharpen, and stress-test customer-facing features
• Partner across the organization on unified solutions for cross-team problems
• Mentor other engineers to support team growth
• Help the team plan, estimate, and de-risk large projects
• Set the bar for engineering judgment, code quality, and craft
