Product Designer, Generative Media

About the role

The Staff Product Designer will lead the design for Synthesia's AI Playground, a generative-media workspace for creating video clips, images, and motion graphics. This role involves setting design direction, influencing product roadmaps, and shaping the user experience for complex AI-driven workflows. The designer will operate as a senior individual contributor, partnering with product and engineering leaders to scale the platform from a single-format surface into a multi-format creation hub.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end evolution of the Playground product from a single-format surface to a scalable multi-format creation hub.
• Set design direction for discovery, experimentation, and iteration across all media formats.
• Influence adjacent product areas like Studio and Media Library to ensure design coherence.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to define quality standards, principles, and metrics.
• Prototype and test interaction models to determine the appropriate level of fidelity for learning.
• Raise the craft bar for prompt UX, iteration workflows, and the overall feel of AI-assisted creation.
