Senior Mechanism Engineer, LV Structures

About the role

You will be part of a team responsible for developing stage separation mechanisms, fairing separation mechanisms, actuators, and umbilical fluid and electrical systems for the Spectrum Launch Vehicle. This role involves owning the outcomes of key mechanism design trades and development through the full product lifecycle. You will collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality hardware on time.

Responsibilities

• Design vehicle mechanisms through all phases including CAD, drawings, and sizing until qualification and acceptance.
• Define requirements for vehicle mechanisms.
• Drive trade studies, manufacturing optimization, and performance analysis for mechanisms.
• Interface with teams in static structures, propulsion, AGNC, AIT, and production.
• Create, review, and release development and flight hardware drawings and design documentation.
• Identify and resolve build, test, and design optimizations.
• Contribute to testing activities including defining test plans and procedures, supporting test execution, and post-processing.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 8+ years of experience in a product full cycle design engineering role
