About the role
Airmo is seeking a hands-on Structural & Thermal Engineer to take full ownership of structural analysis and thermal subsystem design for their instruments. The role involves transforming CAD into analysis models, validating designs for launch and orbit, and shaping hardware based on performance results. You will manage the entire lifecycle from initial FEM mesh to thermal-vacuum testing.
Responsibilities
- Define requirements and load levels for payload units
- Build structural FEM models of satellite systems and subsystems from CAD
- Run static, modal, random vibration, sine and shock analyses
- Plan and execute environmental test campaigns including vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum
- Build and run satellite thermal models based on CAD and power profiles
- Define thermal control strategies including MLI design and heater circuit sizing
