About the role

Pleo is seeking a Staff Engineer to join the Business Spend segment and help scale procurement to pay services. You will partner with the Engineering Manager to own the architecture of Business Spend, focusing on supplier data migration and improving the reliability of invoice payment flows. This role involves working across multiple teams to drive technical decisions and build scalable, robust systems.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Engineering Manager to own and be accountable for the whole architecture of Business Spend.
  • Own significant parts of supplier data migration, moving supplier and bank account logic out of a legacy service into a dedicated one without downtime.
  • Improve the reliability of invoice payment flows to reduce payment failures.
  • Turn the new vendor data model into working software to ensure consistency across cards, invoices, and accounting.
  • Help teams make consistent technical decisions through design documents, code reviews, and the architecture forum.
  • Raise the performance of surrounding team members through pairing, review, and clear documentation.
