SecOps Security Engineer

About the role

Synthesia is looking for a Staff-level Security Engineer to join the Infosec team and scale security efforts as the company grows. You will report to the Head of Security and focus on building technical security improvements across cloud infrastructure and container ecosystems. This role involves designing detection capabilities, responding to security incidents, and developing internal tooling to automate security processes.

Responsibilities

• Build and own deeply technical security improvements across Cloud Infrastructure and associated territory including AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
• Design, implement, and iterate on detection and response capabilities such as SIEM, EDR/MDR, and CNAPP with a focus on automation and reliability.
• Hunt, investigate, and respond to security alerts and suspicious activity end-to-end, including writing tooling and detection logic to prevent recurrence.
• Build internal security tooling and automations using IaC and scripts to reduce toil and raise the security bar.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience in a cloud-first SaaS environment
• Experience working in a fast-growing startup or scale-up
