Principal Security Engineer

About the role

The Principal Security Engineer serves as a senior technical authority, shaping security strategy and architecture across the entire organization. This role operates at the intersection of technology strategy, security architecture, and business risk to ensure secure-by-default practices. You will influence multi-year technical decisions, mentor senior engineering staff, and drive security innovation in areas such as AI, cloud, and product security.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong bias for action, moving quickly from ambiguity to clear decisions and measurable outcomes.
• Make security AI-native by driving automation, internal security products, and self-service capabilities.
• Act as a strategic technical advisor to senior and executive leadership on multi-year technology and business strategy.
• Own and elevate secure design and architecture at scale, defining principles, standards, and guardrails.
• Connect the entire security system by establishing coherent technical direction across cloud, application, and enterprise security domains.
• Eliminate classes of risk by driving secure-by-default cloud and product architecture across AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Define security architecture for the AI and agentic era, covering LLMs, RAG, and AI-assisted engineering.
• Mentor staff and principal-track engineers while remaining hands-on with prototyping and code reviews.
