Applied Scientist, Pro Growth

About the role

The Applied Scientist for Pro Growth will build models and experiments to shape pro acquisition, activation, and supply health. You will own end-to-end projects from problem framing and experiment design to deploying models into production and measuring business impact. This role involves leveraging machine learning, causal inference, and optimization to ensure a robust and high-quality supply of service professionals on the platform.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and drive applied science projects to completion with a focus on pro acquisition, activation, retention, and supply health.
• Develop, deploy, and optimize machine learning models for supply-side problems including lead scoring, market-level forecasting, and churn prediction.
• Design and execute marketplace experiments to measure model and product impact on business metrics.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks related to supply health.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and marketing teams to define problems and ensure successful implementation of ML systems.
• Contribute to the team's agentic-first workflows, including LLM-powered tooling and AI agent development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent industry experience
• 3+ years of industry experience as an applied scientist, data scientist, or ML engineer
