Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Ryft is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a core payments squad and help build the infrastructure for modern commerce platforms. You will work with C#/.NET on AWS to design, build, and maintain event-driven services that handle complex payment processing, money movement, and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on role where you will own features from initial design through to production, contributing to architectural decisions and ensuring system reliability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver backend features end-to-end, from design through to production, to a consistently high standard.
• Write services that behave under retries, partial failure, and concurrency, focusing on idempotency and accurate money maths.
• Take real ownership of what you ship, including instrumentation, alerting, on-call, and incident response in a regulated payments environment.
• Use AI-assisted workflows to multiply output while remaining in full command of every line of code.
• Improve the codebase through code reviews, setting conventions, and pushing engineering standards forward.
• Contribute to architectural decisions across the platform.
• Collaborate with engineering managers, product teams, and other squads to ship secure, scalable payments features.
