About the role

Capital on Tap is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to manage and develop a product engineering team in Lisbon. This is a people-first leadership role focused on team growth, performance, and delivery while maintaining technical credibility to guide architectural decisions. The role involves partnering with product and QA teams to ship reliable solutions while fostering a culture of accountability and psychological safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop, and retain a team of engineers through effective 1:1s and career growth support.
• Partner with Product and QA to plan and ship features by removing obstacles and managing risk.
• Set team culture regarding communication, feedback, and accountability.
• Contribute to technical discussions on architecture, technical debt, and build vs buy decisions.
• Hire and onboard new team members as the Lisbon office scales.
