Director of Accounting & Controlling

About the role

The Director of Accounting & Controlling will lead the financial reporting and controlling backbone for a fast-growing aerospace and defense company. Reporting to the CFO, this role oversees group financial reporting, IFRS and local GAAP compliance, and internal controls across multiple international entities. The position requires a hands-on leader to drive execution, manage complex accounting issues, and scale finance operations in a manufacturing-heavy environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual group close across all consolidated entities.
• Own and strengthen internal accounting controls, policies, and their consistent application across the group.
• Drive improvements to ERP and finance systems, including Microsoft Dynamics environments.
• Oversee group-wide cost accounting standards, including standard and actual costing, absorption, and variance analysis.
• Manage the Operations Finance function and ensure disciplined reporting of manufacturing costs.
• Act as the primary management counterpart for external auditors and manage statutory audits.
• Build and develop a high-performing accounting and controlling organization across multiple European jurisdictions.
