About the role

The Propellant Quality Control Engineer will ensure the quality, consistency, and traceability of materials and processes used in solid propellant manufacturing. This hands-on role involves defining and executing quality-control activities from raw materials to finished products while working closely with engineering and production teams. The successful candidate will maintain rigorous standards for safety, documentation, and process control to support the company's orbital rocket development.

Responsibilities

  • Define and perform quality-control checks for raw materials, intermediate products, and finished propellant.
  • Develop and maintain inspection plans, test methods, acceptance criteria, sampling requirements, and quality records.
  • Review laboratory and production data to identify trends, variation, out-of-specification results, and emerging process issues.
  • Lead or support investigations into non-conformances, deviations, material issues, and unexpected test results.
  • Maintain clear traceability of materials, batches, samples, equipment, results, and technical decisions.
  • Work with the Lead Propellant Manager and manufacturing teams to improve process capability, measurement quality, and production consistency.
