About the role
The Propellant Lab Technician will support the development, characterisation, and improvement of solid propellants for propulsion systems. This hands-on role involves preparing materials, operating laboratory equipment, conducting experiments, and maintaining accurate technical records. The successful candidate will contribute to repeatable propellant formulations and the scale-up of laboratory work toward propulsion hardware.
Responsibilities
- Prepare chemicals, raw materials, samples, equipment, and test setups for propellant experiments.
- Support formulation, mixing, casting, curing, sample preparation, and laboratory-scale processing activities.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment used for propellant preparation and characterisation.
- Conduct measurements and record results accurately, maintaining clear and traceable laboratory records.
- Support investigations into unexpected results, process variation, material issues, and non-conformances.
- Maintain laboratory organisation, stock levels, equipment readiness, waste handling, and safety standards.
