As a Staff Data Engineer, you will lead and mentor a team of data engineers while shaping the future of data integration at Jobber. This strategic and hands-on role involves designing resilient systems, driving technical excellence, and ensuring data remains a trusted asset to accelerate business growth. You will work cross-functionally to build scalable data pipelines and empower teams across the organization to leverage data effectively.
Responsibilities
- Shape foundational data components by designing, building, and maintaining scalable batch and real-time data pipelines.
- Champion technical excellence by setting best practices and mentoring team members to support their growth.
- Drive reliability and resilience by establishing testing standards, SLAs, and disaster recovery playbooks.
- Advance observability and governance by building frameworks for monitoring, logging, lineage, and auditing.
- Develop self-service tools and automation to reduce manual effort and enable efficient data access across the organization.
- Partner with technical program managers to define strategic roadmaps and align data engineering priorities with business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify friction points and design solutions that improve system scalability and consistency.
