Account Director (Public Sector DACH)

About the role

You will be responsible for opening and building deepset's public sector business across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland by selling sovereign AI solutions to federal, state, and municipal administrations. This is a new-business role that involves managing the full sales cycle, from pipeline generation to closing complex multi-stakeholder deals. You will report to the Public Sector Lead and collaborate with technical teams to deliver practical AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define the DACH public sector go-to-market strategy and build a qualified pipeline from zero.
• Map buying centers and align pursuits with budget cycles and funding windows.
• Lead tenders end-to-end, including bid/no-bid decisions, pricing, compliance documentation, and EVB-IT contract terms.
• Shape requirements through market consultations and pilots.
• Build a partner ecosystem with SIs, public sector IT service providers, and sovereign cloud providers.
• Close complex deals and provide market and compliance insights to internal product and leadership teams.
