Lead Data Scientist

About the role

The Lead Data Scientist will own machine learning initiatives across the business, including membership, operations, and digital products. This role involves taking models from initial concept through to production, ensuring they deliver measurable commercial value. The successful candidate will also act as a subject matter expert to elevate the analytics team's measurement standards and data literacy.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, build and continuous improvement of the ML portfolio including churn, segmentation, personalisation, and demand forecasting.
• Set up ML Ops standards including version control, model registry, and governance.
• Partner with Data Engineering to deploy models into production using GCP, Snowflake, and Airflow.
• Build monitoring and observability frameworks for model accuracy and data drift.
• Establish standards for advanced measurement, experimentation, and causal inference across the analytics team.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritise the data science roadmap based on business value.
• Direct and quality-assure work from offshore data science resources.
