About the role

This research internship focuses on studying neural networks to ensure prediction independence from continuous sensitive variables like age or income. The intern will explore methods for bias reduction, implement existing regularization techniques, and develop new approaches to mitigate discriminatory biases in machine learning models.

Responsibilities

• Implement existing bias reduction methods based on dependency measures
• Establish a robust protocol to compare performance and fairness trade-offs
• Design and experiment with new bias reduction methods adapted for continuous variables
• Utilize open source libraries to ensure code reproducibility
