About the role

As a Category Manager for books, you will independently manage and develop your book categories with a focus on growth, market trends, and profitability. You will evaluate new releases and backlist titles while ensuring product availability and building strong partnerships with publishers and suppliers. This role requires a blend of analytical thinking and a passion for books to drive sales and margin optimization in a dynamic e-commerce environment.

Responsibilities

• Steuerung und Weiterentwicklung der Buchkategorien mit Fokus auf Wachstum und Wirtschaftlichkeit.
• Bewertung von Neuerscheinungen, Backlist-Titeln, Themenwelten und Verlagen hinsichtlich Nachfrage, Potenzial und Performance.
• Verantwortung für Bestellungen sowie Sicherstellung der Warenverfügbarkeit in Zusammenarbeit mit internen Schnittstellen.
• Analyse von Verkaufszahlen, Markttrends, Wettbewerbern und Sortimentsperformance zur Ableitung konkreter Optimierungsmaßnahmen.
• Aufbau und Pflege erfolgreicher Partnerschaften mit Verlagen und Lieferanten sowie Identifikation neuer Geschäftsmöglichkeiten.
• Kontinuierliche Verbesserung von Umsatz, Marge und Sortiment auf Basis datengetriebener Entscheidungen.

Qualifications
