Legal Counsel

About the role

As Legal Counsel, you will help shape and build the legal function at MakiPeople. This hands-on role spans commercial contracts, legal operations, privacy, product, and regulatory matters to support responsible growth. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to turn legal obligations into practical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial contracting by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating customer agreements.
• Represent the company in negotiations with customer legal and procurement teams.
• Develop negotiation positions, fallback clauses, and contracting standards to improve efficiency.
• Build scalable legal operations by creating templates, playbooks, and internal guidance.
• Select and implement legal tools and workflows to manage increasing legal volume.
• Monitor regulatory developments in AI, privacy, and data protection to advise on product and operational requirements.
