Graduate Mechanical Engineer

About the role

This role offers the opportunity for a mechanical engineer to contribute to product development projects across diverse sectors including industrial, consumer, energy, healthcare, and defence. You will work from initial idea generation through to delivery and manufacturing support, guided by senior team members. The position involves applying user-centred design and rigorous systems engineering to develop innovative devices and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Researching emerging technologies, markets and user needs.
• Taking part in concept generation and problem-solving workshops.
• Evaluating ideas using engineering analysis, simulation tools and experimental evidence.
• Preparing detailed designs from system level through to component level.
• Applying DfX principles including manufacture, assembly, cost, quality and reliability.
• Contributing to the development of manufacturing and industrialisation solutions.
• Manufacturing parts and assemblies, either hands-on or by liaising with suppliers.
