Director, Value Engineering

About the role

The Director of Value Engineering will lead a team of Value Engineers for the CPG and Retail segment across the DACH region. This role involves driving customer value, accelerating enterprise AI adoption, and serving as a player-coach to mentor a high-performing team. The position requires acting as an executive sponsor and strategic advisor to C-level stakeholders at major enterprise accounts.

Responsibilities

• Drive Business Outcomes & Account Growth: Take full ownership of ARR targets, renewal forecasts, and net retention across the DACH CPG & Retail sector.
• People Leadership & Coaching: Recruit, onboard, lead, and mentor a team of 6–7 Munich-based Value Engineers.
• Executive Advisory & Player-Coach: Serve as a Celonis Executive Sponsor on critical DACH deals and lead high-impact executive meetings and strategic workshops.
• Enterprise AI Champion: Partner with customer executives to position Celonis as the foundation for modern process intelligence and Agentic AI adoption.
• Ecosystem & Partner Strategy: Cultivate executive-level relationships across regional partner networks and services teams.
• Thought Leadership: Standardize and scale best practices and industry-specific frameworks internally and across customer communities.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in pre-sales, management consulting, or value engineering
• Deep domain familiarity with supply chain, procurement, fulfillment, and operational processes in CPG & Retail
• Demonstrated ability to manage or mentor a team of 6–7 high-performing individual contributors
• Native or business-fluent German and fluent English
