Staff Platform Engineer

About the role

Ashby is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to build and maintain the infrastructure that powers their talent acquisition software. You will own projects end-to-end, focusing on scaling infrastructure, improving developer experience, and ensuring the reliability and security of the platform. This role requires a hands-on engineer who values code-as-infrastructure and is comfortable working in an autonomous, async-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Optimize the homegrown recruiting DSL-to-SQL compiler and create developer tools
• Create automated guardrails for customer data security and privacy
• Implement canary deploys, gradual rollouts, and feature flags to accelerate feature delivery
• Define SLOs and implement SLIs in collaboration with the business and engineering teams
• Support event-driven architecture and data warehouse infrastructure
• Debug complex issues and perform infrastructure updates, security enforcements, and database optimization
