Sales Engineer (Public Sector / Defence)

About the role

The Rubrik Sales Engineering team helps governments and critical-infrastructure organisations stay operational through cyberattacks and threats. As a Defence Sales Engineer, you will serve as the technical voice for UK defence customers, partnering with an Account Executive to protect sensitive data. You will own the technical strategy for this high-visibility segment and shape how Rubrik engages with the defence market.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Defence Account Executive to build and run account plans across the MOD, the armed forces and the wider defence community.
• Lead technical discovery and whiteboarding sessions to uncover operational and security risks and translate them into business cases.
• Architect and demonstrate Data Resilience, Observability and Remediation solutions for defence organisations.
• Run proofs of concept from scoping through to success criteria to demonstrate performance in security-conscious environments.
• Generate pipeline alongside the Account Executive across new prospects and existing accounts.
• Qualify opportunities based on technical requirements, competition, decision-making processes and funding.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sales engineering, solutions architecture or technical pre-sales role
• Experience working in or selling to UK defence or defence primes
• Military or defence background
• Existing security clearance (SC or above) or eligibility to obtain one
