Software Engineer II - Backend

About the role

Socure is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, build, and operate scalable backend services that power identity verification and fraud prevention products. You will work within a global engineering team to develop reliable, secure, and maintainable software while collaborating across product, infrastructure, and data science functions. This role requires taking ownership of software from initial design through to production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and operate backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Develop reliable, secure, and maintainable production software.
• Work on distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, messaging, and event-driven architectures.
• Contribute to technical design and make thoughtful engineering trade-offs.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and observability.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with globally distributed, cross-functional teams to solve customer and business problems.
