Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead accurate and timely period-end close activities within the Global Finance Services shared services organisation. This role involves acting as a subject matter expert for Record-to-Report processes, including journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany accounting. The successful candidate will drive accounting quality, financial control, and continuous improvement while supporting audit readiness and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee complex accounting activities, reconciliations and financial reporting support processes.
• Own key balance sheet accounts and ensure timely reconciliation and resolution of outstanding items.
• Review and sign off bank reconciliations.
• Oversee intercompany accounting and resolution of differences.
• Lead assigned month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare and review variance analysis and supporting information for reporting requirements.
• Support internal and external audits and accounting policy implementation.
• Coach and support Accountants in the execution of accounting activities and capability development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline
• Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• Experience within a global Shared Services Centre or Global Business Services environment
