Senior Field Service Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Field Service Engineer, you will serve as the senior technical authority for maintaining Orbem's systems at customer sites and internal labs. You will own the resolution of complex, unplanned service incidents, act as an escalation point for the team, and mentor junior engineers. This role involves creating maintenance playbooks and guiding installation efforts to ensure reliable system performance.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end diagnosis and resolution of complex, previously unresolved, or urgent service incidents at customer sites and in internal labs.
• Act as the primary escalation point for difficult repairs raised by junior Field Engineers and serve as the go-to technical contact for suppliers.
• Tailor maintenance and troubleshooting approaches to local site conditions and document deviations from standard procedures.
• Create and continuously improve maintenance and service SOPs and checklists.
• Mentor and coach junior Field Engineers on troubleshooting best practices and technical judgment.
• Lead Site Visit Checklist execution and technical problem-solving during installation and upgrade projects.
• Act as the primary technical feedback loop to Engineering by interpreting field findings and proposing solutions.
