About the role

The Senior IT Architect will support the development of a central software repository within a cloud environment for a public sector client. The role involves designing and testing cloud-based solutions, including containerization strategies and performance validation for various software platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Identify technical constraints and interfaces.
  • Design system components, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Analyse internal and external dependencies between modules, services, and third-party systems.
  • Define integration strategies such as API gateways, adapters, and service mesh.
  • Research and evaluate alternative technologies, frameworks, or products.
  • Create decision-making foundations such as pro/con tables and proof-of-concepts.
  • Perform risk analysis for migration or introduction of new solutions.
  • Create a plan for containerization of existing or new components.
  • Define requirements for containerization and maintain technical documentation.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and provide DevOps support.
  • Ensure performance, scalability, availability, and security through Security-by-Design and Privacy-by-Design.
  • Coordinate technically with dev teams, operations, product owners, and external partners.
  • Present and defend architectural decisions to management or clients.
