Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Lovable is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as a founding member of a new function, working directly with customers to translate ideas into production-ready software. This role involves hands-on engineering across frontend, backend, and AI systems while helping to define the team's standards and operational processes. You will bridge the gap between customer needs and core product development, ensuring that successful deployments inform the evolution of the Lovable platform.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand their workflows, needs, and problems
• Turn ambiguous requirements into clear technical designs and working production systems
• Design, code, test, deploy, and operate solutions across Lovable’s frontend and backend
• Translate insights from real usage into foundational platform improvements
• Own projects end-to-end from discovery and architecture through shipping and iteration
• Debug complex issues across application, infrastructure, and AI-system boundaries
• Shape how Forward Deployed Engineering operates at Lovable, including its engineering standards, rituals, and playbooks
• Contribute to core product strategy, technical decisions, and cultural foundations
