Canonical is seeking a Design Manager to lead and contribute to the visual design practice supporting brand and site experiences. This hands-on leadership role involves managing a team of designers, driving innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality visual solutions across marketing, data visualization, and UI projects. The successful candidate will balance strategic thinking with active design work while fostering professional growth within the team.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing work critically and constructively to ensure excellence and consistency
• Contributing hands-on design work when capacity or complexity requires it
• Working with individual designers to support their professional growth
• Overseeing and improving operational workflows and production processes
• Collaborating with stakeholders in Marketing, Web Engineering, and Design Systems to define outcomes
• Evolving design systems and guidelines to drive quality and efficiency
• Coordinating with design leadership to mature the collective practice
• Facilitating team collaboration and making the value of design legible across the organization
