Principal Data Engineer - GIS / Geospatial

About the role

The Principal Data Engineer will design and develop modern solutions for the management, processing, and integration of geospatial data. This role involves creating data architectures for complex GIS, 3D, and infrastructure projects while advising clients on system architecture and technical strategy. You will act as a technical lead, translating business requirements into technical concepts and guiding projects from proof-of-concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop solutions for the management, processing, and integration of geospatial data
• Create data architectures and models for complex GIS, 3D, and infrastructure data
• Develop and optimize data integration and transformation processes using ArcGIS and FME
• Advise clients on the selection and development of GIS, database, and system architectures
• Analyze requirements and translate them into technical target images, interfaces, and solution concepts
• Support proof-of-concepts, technical validations, and the transition of solutions into production
• Moderate workshops and communicate technical concepts to clients and stakeholders
