Data Engineer

About the role

The Data & Automation team acts as a center of excellence for data and process optimization within the OMR Tech department. You will be responsible for the technical foundation of the data platform, building and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure that support data-driven decision-making across all business units. This role involves managing ELT infrastructure, optimizing BigQuery performance, and integrating AI-driven solutions to enhance pipeline diagnostics and developer tooling.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor ELT pipeline infrastructure, including Airflow DAGs on Cloud Composer and connector landscapes like Airbyte and Fivetran.
• Develop custom Airflow operators and integrate new data sources into the data warehouse.
• Optimize BigQuery infrastructure, including performance tuning, partitioning, clustering, and cost monitoring.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting for pipeline health, data quality, and operational SLAs.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for ingestion and dbt, and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and the development of AI-driven automation for data platform diagnostics and workflows.
