Lead Software Engineer

About the role

As a Lead Software Engineer and Manager at Artefact, you will lead complex data and generative AI engineering projects while mentoring a team of software engineers. You will act as a technical reference for major clients, overseeing the design and deployment of critical architectures and ensuring operational excellence. This role involves bridging the gap between business needs and technical strategy while fostering the growth of the technical community.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the delivery of complex Data and AI projects including multi-agent solutions and medallion architectures.
• Oversee the design and construction of robust data platforms on cloud providers while ensuring alignment with Infrastructure as Code and software engineering best practices.
• Define the technical vision for GenAI and LLM projects including orchestration and evaluation.
• Manage team performance, provide mentorship, and support the career development of software engineers.
• Conduct technical scoping with major clients and communicate strategic architectural choices effectively.
• Ensure adherence to code quality, security, and delivery standards across all projects.
• Contribute to the technical community through internal talks, guilds, and recruitment efforts.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Lead, Engineering Manager, or Senior Architect
