About the role

Quandela is seeking a hands-on Lean engineer to transition manufacturing from R&D and low-volume production toward structured, scalable industrial output. The role involves adapting Lean principles to a complex high-tech environment, including cleanroom and yield constraints, to improve manufacturing speed, reliability, and scale. You will combine strong analytical skills with a shop-floor mindset to optimize production processes and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Define and deploy Lean principles across semiconductor, photonic and system manufacturing
  • Map end-to-end flows with Value Stream Mapping and build improvement roadmaps
  • Analyze cycle time and lead actions to reduce lead time and WIP
  • Introduce pull-flow or controlled-WIP principles and improve flow between production stages
  • Identify bottlenecks, optimize sequencing, and implement OEE monitoring
  • Develop standardized work to reduce variability between operators and runs
  • Build shop-floor and visual management systems with daily routines
  • Lead structured problem solving and build these capabilities within production teams
  • Deploy and sustain 5S in cleanroom environments
  • Work with Process Engineering and Quality to reduce scrap, rework and yield losses
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities and track savings
  • Embed Lean into new production lines, layouts and equipment investments
