Senior Underwriter

About the role

Abound is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join their unsecured lending team. This role involves team leadership, credit assessment, and supporting the scaling of performance targets while utilizing advanced AI and Open Banking technology. The successful candidate will make balanced, commercially aware underwriting decisions in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front as part of the underwriting management team and cover for team leaders during absences.
• Monitor and update processes and systems to improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry regulations and stay current with changes affecting underwriting decisions.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to junior underwriters.
• Perform quality control and provide feedback to team members.
