Senior Underwriter

About the role

Abound is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join their unsecured lending team and contribute to the scaling of performance and targets. The role involves combining regulatory knowledge with advanced in-house technology to make balanced, commercially aware lending decisions. You will lead by example, provide guidance to junior team members, and help monitor and improve underwriting processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front as part of the underwriting management team and cover for team leads during absences.
• Monitor and update underwriting processes and systems to improve business performance.
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry regulations and stay current with changes affecting lending decisions.
• Provide guidance, training, and quality control feedback to junior underwriters.
• Make informed, commercially aware underwriting decisions using in-house technology and Open Banking analysis.
