Lead AI Engineer

About the role

As a Lead AI Engineer, you will define the AI architecture and standards for Flip's core products, including Flip Fusion, the Ask AI Agent Gateway, and Flip Flows. You will lead and develop a team of three AI engineers while remaining hands-on with complex technical challenges. This role requires balancing high performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency in multi-agent systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and align AI architecture and standards across Flip Fusion, Ask AI Agent Gateway, and Flip Flows.
• Lead and mentor a team of three AI engineers to foster their professional growth.
• Spend approximately 70 percent of your time on hands-on coding and solving complex technical problems.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering leads to influence roadmaps through technical expertise.
• Design and operate productive LLM-based systems including RAG, tool calling, and orchestration.
