Staff Software Engineer

About the role

Evolve is seeking a highly motivated Staff Engineer to build, secure, and scale the infrastructure powering their vacation rental platform. This role involves driving DevOps transformation, architecting reliable systems, and setting standards for AI tooling adoption across multiple engineering teams. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to address systemic technical debt and influence platform architecture strategy.

Responsibilities

• Drive DevOps transformation by leading CI/CD pipeline design, container orchestration strategy, and cloud infrastructure reliability.
• Champion a security-first culture by architecting secure infrastructure, including secrets management, IAM, and vulnerability scanning.
• Apply AI tooling with rigor by leveraging AI-assisted development and modeling critical evaluation practices.
• Own platform reliability end-to-end by setting SLOs/SLAs, leading incident response, and reducing MTTD/MTTR.
• Lead infrastructure as code at scale by designing scalable, reusable modules to reduce toil and address technical debt.
• Define and drive architectural direction as the primary decision-maker for platform architecture across multiple domains.
